Liv Holmes: Beyond The Ropes
It was a slow start in the professional ranks for the eight-time National amateur champion. But Liv Holmes has found some semblance of activity, and hopes are high that the 24-year-old Liverpool fighter can get herself into the title picture in the next twelve months. The unbeaten prospect will have fight number four at the Boxpark in Liverpool on November 21st.

Holmes had just one fight last year after she left her successful amateur career behind, but her fight next month will be her third outing in 2026. Every prospect needs rounds to develop; Holmes is certainly finding that in 2026.
After leaving the amateur ranks behind, Holmes made her professional debut in December with a 60-54 six-round points victory over Rajwant Kaur. Holmes returned in April, winning every round again against Linzi Buczynskyj. Holmes improved her resume to 3-0 in September with another comprehensive points victory. Antonella Shirley Molina lost every round against the former amateur star, with Holmes getting her third 60-54 points decision on the bounce. Holmes is yet to drop a single round in those three professional fights.

Holmes is trained by Stephen Smith, and trains alongside Jade Jones and the former WBO world lightweight champion Rhiannon Dixon, who has recently joined that flourishing stable. Dixon makes her return on the same Liverpool show next month after over two years away.

“I want to be moved fast, and the team around me want the same,” Holmes told me a few months ago. “After I have had a few more fights this year, I want to fight for a title early next year. That’s my short-term goal. But down the line, I want to get as many titles as possible. A future aspiration is to become a world champion.”
There is every chance Liv Holmes will be hunting down those titles sooner rather than later.
