Chantelle Cameron delivered a sublime performance on Saturday night in Birmingham when she unanimously outpointed the the three-division world champion Mikaela Mayer.

Cameron is now the WBC, WBA, and WBO unified world super-welterweight champion, and has put herself in line for more major fights in the next twelve months. They include a rematch with Mayer, plus possible fights with Lauren Price and Claressa Shields. A fighter who was once starved of the big fights is now seemingly spoilt for choice in that department.

The former undisputed world super-lightweight now has two signature wins on her record. That victory over Katie Taylor in 2023, a win that still gets lost in a landscape that wants to tell a different story, and now the victory over Mikaela Mayer. Both Taylor and Mayer are in the top five of the pound-for-pound rankings. Cameron has an underrated resume of her own. No British fighter can top her achievements. As a result of her victory over Mayer, Cameron reclaims her position as the top British female fighter.

Ellie Scotney drops back down to number two. Which might seem a little harsh on the former undisputed world super-bantamweight champion, but the achievements of Cameron just top what Scotney has achieved so far. Scotney returns in November and will challenge Tiara Brown for her WBC world featherweight title.

There is little movement elsewhere in the top fifteen. Tiah-Mai Ayton makes her first appearance in the top ten. Ayton was mightily impressive in her recent stoppage victory over Ellie Hellewell. At just 20-years-old, the newly crowned Commonwealth featherweight champion, Ayton could be fighting for a world title sooner rather than later. A phenomenal talent who will surely be pushing for a place in the top five of this list within the next twelve months.

Emma Dolan and Shannon Ryan will clash again in Sheffield next month, in a highly intriguing rematch. Dolan won the first fight. The winner of the second fight could be rewarded with a world title fight in 2027.

Tysie Gallagher is unlucky to drop out of the top ten. Gallagher ended a frustrating period in her career with a decent, hard-earned victory over Brandi Robinson on Saturday night in Birmingham. I just think the likes of Ryan, Dolan, and Ayton are a little ahead of her at the moment. But Gallagher should now be in the world title mix and could have a very big twelve months ahead of her.

That applies to Hannah Robinson. The world super-lightweight titles should splinter if Katie Taylor leaves the sport this weekend as an undisputed champion. The highly-ranked Robinson will almost certainly fight for one of the vacant belts.

Megan Redstall has landed an IBO title opportunity in November. Redstall is coming off an incredibly impressive victory over Maiseyrose Courtney. Redstall could be the dark horse of the flyweight division.
