Hughie Fury Falls Short Again

Hughie Fury Falls Short Again

Hughie Fury has now had three chances at world level, and each time he has come up short, and you have to wonder how many more chances he will get.

Alexander Povetkin looked a dangerous match on paper, but a more than winnable gamble for Fury.

The problem for Fury is that all three defeats have come in the same manner. With a style that isn’t pleasing on the eye, Fury looks to have found his level.

Povetkin showed he isn’t finished yet, and claimed an unanimous decision, all three judges had it 117-111.

The fight lacked any real rhythm, but Povetkin was the one who was forcing the pace, landing the cleaner punches, and was the deserved winner.

Fury deserves credit for taking the fight, and if he is serious about world titles, it was a fight he needed to and should have won.
