Nunes vs de Randamie Set For UFC 245
By Claudia Peterson
ESPN announced today that Amanda Nunes vs Germaine de Randamie is verbally agreed for UFC 245 in Las Vegas.
Double division champ Amanda “The Lioness” Nunes will defend her bantamweight title against former featherweight champion and current number 1 bantamweight contender Germaine “The Iron Lady” de Randamie.
This is an intriguing matchup between both strikers. They met previously in 2013 at UFC Fight for the Troops 3. The fight ended in the first round with the Lioness claiming the victory via TKO via ground and pound.
Both of these fighters matchup quite well. Nunes is a well rounded fighter, with the ability to strike and grapple. De Randamie is an undefeated kickboxer who previously outpointed the boxer in Holly Holm and has tremendous takedown defense.
They are both similar in height and reach, leaving less advantages against one another. They have also evolved greatly since their first meeting, with both women having laid claim to the UFC featherweight title.
Nunes is currently riding a 9 fight win streak, while de Randamie is on 5 wins on the bounce.
The fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday december 14.
