Hannah Robinson Stays Undefeated & Wants World Titles Next Year
It was victory number seven for Hannah Robinson on Friday night. The 32-year-old won every one of the six rounds to take home a 60-54 points decision over Katherine Quintana at the Sunderland Live Arena.
Robinson (7-0) defeated Charlie Sutton earlier this year to win Commonwealth Silver and IBF European super-lightweight titles over ten rounds, but the former two-time national amateur champion dropped back down in distance in a stay-busy fight against the durable Quintana. Robinson was happy with last night’s performance.
“I was pleased with it,” Robinson told me. “It was a great fight to keep busy. I got to practice a lot of things I’ve been working on in the gym, and it’s probably the most consistent I’ve been throughout the whole fight. I think I had a bit more spite in my shots this time. It would’ve been nice to have gotten the stoppage, which I almost did at the end of the 5th round. But she was a tough, durable opponent with a tight defence.”
Despite having only two fights in 2026, Robinson can be pleased with her progress this year. I thought she showed real glimpses of her potential in April when she took a clear and deserved decision over Sutton to win those two titles that will amplify her credentials on the world stage. The 32-year-old would have liked a little more ring time, but it’s been a year of progress nonetheless. The next twelve months, you sense, are where her career goes to the next level.
The 140-pound division is now wide open after Katie Taylor’s recent retirement. Robinson is highly-ranked in the world rankings and should be in a position to fight for her maiden world title at some point in 2027.
