Molly McCann Outpoints Sylwia Doligala in Dublin

Molly McCann delivered a career-best performance at Croke Park on Saturday night. McCann widely outpointed the super-tough Sylwia Doligala in a manner that suggests her dream of winning a world title are realistic.

The former UFC star is now evolving into a fighter who could challenge for, and maybe even win major titles.

McCann is looking more like a complete boxer with each passing fight. Doligala was game, and never stopped advancing, but her 36-year-old opponent was far too good for her. Scores of 79-73, 80-72, and 80-73 gave McCann a unanimous points decision. This observer had McCann winning every round without reply.

It was a more controlled performance in only her fifth professional fight. Showing patience, and excellent foot work, McCann was impressive. Slipping in and out of range at ease. Effortlessly switching stances. Doligala couldn’t find any kind of rhythm. After switching back to boxing last year, the signs are incredibly encouraging that McCann could make a more than decent run. Tougher tests lie ahead, but Molly McCann can look forward with much glee. A British or European title opportunity should present itself sooner rather than later.
