Top Tier: Shona Whitwell Returns In July
Shona Whitwell will make a relatively quick turnaround when she fights Victoria Emma Lomax in July on a Top Tier promotion in Brentwood. It will be her second fight of 2026, a year that Whitwell hopes will end with titles around her waist.

Whitwell defeated Joanna Fraszczak in April. Fraszczak was stopped in the sixth and final round. It was the former amateur star’s second stoppage victory on the bounce. Whitwell stopped Alisha Lewis in the opening round in October. The win over Fraszczak improved the resume of Whitwell to 3-0.
The 28-year-old turned professional last year after a highly successful amateur career that included seven national titles, plus a plethora of medals on the international stage. A points debut victory, Katerina Dvorakova on her debut, was followed by those two stoppage victories over Lewis and Fraszczak. Whitwell has the look of a fighter who is settling quite nicely into the world of professional boxing.
It had been a frustrating start to her professional career. Whitwell was a decorated amateur but has struggled to attract the limelight in the professional ranks. But it would appear things are changing on that front. The unbeaten super-featherweight prospect has talked about activity being the key for her this year. Shona Whitwell wants to be in title contention by the end of 2026. If that activity does materialise, with her potential, titles should be a given.

Whitwell will have fight number four on another excellent Johnny Clark-promoted show. Clark deserves credit for pushing women’s boxing in the way that he does. Megan Redstall and Maiseyrose Courtney clash for the WBO International flyweight title on the same card, and the big-punching lightweight Shauna Browne is also part of the latest Top Tier production, which takes place at the Brentwood Centre in Essex on July 12th.
