Unbeaten Prospect Jade Pearce Moves to 4-0

Unbeaten Prospect Jade Pearce Moves to 4-0

Jade Pearce is turning into an intriguing and promising prospect. On Saturday night at the Rainton Meadows Arena, Houghton-le-Spring, Pearce showed again that she is one to follow.

Pearce outpointed the ever-reliable Linzi Buczynskyj over six good rounds. It was another good, solid performance from the Middlesbrough fighter. Pearce never stopped advancing; she didn’t give her opponent any room or time to settle. But there was a lot of thought about her relentless come-forward aggression. The 29-year-old will be an extremely difficult fighter to beat. A suffocating style that will be hard to stop.

Buczynskyj (5-11) was the perfect opponent for fight number four. Despite her losing record, Buczynskyj is a decent test for up-and-coming fighters, and she is more capable of winning rounds against those rising prospects. But that wasn’t the case last night. Pearce won every round and impressively moved to 4-0 courtesy of a 60-54 scorecard. An undefeated prospect who is showing ever-increasing maturity inside a boxing ring.

Pearce weighed just over the super-featherweight division last night, and will likely fight for titles at 130. I am of the understanding that a Commonwealth title opportunity is looming. Jade Pearce looks more than capable of winning it when that opportunity eventually materialises. Which could be very soon indeed.
