Unbeaten Edinburgh sensation joins world’s pre-eminent boxing brand

Everlast, the brand of choice for generations of world champion athletes, today proudly announces the British, Commonwealth and European Bantamweight Champion Lee ‘Lightning’ McGregor as its latest brand partner.

One of the world’s fastest rising and most exciting boxing talents, McGregor joins Everlast’s existing stable of elite athletes including Josh Taylor, Conor Benn, Ramla Ali and Natasha Jonas. Together, the #TeamEverlast fighters seek to inspire the fight in us all, unleashing strength and determination in every individual.

In signing his long-term partnership with the premier fight sports and fitness brand, McGregor will use Everlast equipment and wear the new Greatness sportswear range. Battle-tested in one of the toughest athletic environments, Everlast products have been imagined by a hundred years in the gym, designed and engineered to empower your best self.

Undefeated in ten fights with eight knockouts, McGregor exemplifies Everlast’s values of strength and dedication, becoming a triple champion in remarkably quick time and securing a number three IBF World ranking as he closes in on a world title shot and beyond.

Commenting on the partnership, McGregor said, “I’m absolutely delighted to be teaming up with a brand as big as Everlast. As a kid I never ever imagined myself being in a position like this. I’m so excited for the journey ahead with a fantastic team behind me.”

In response to Everlast’s pledge to sign 52 athletes this year, in support of British boxing, McGregor said, “To be signing fifty two fighters this year is just incredible. It’s only going to do amazing things in terms of inspiring the younger generation of fighters to stick in and work hard with opportunities like this available to them in the future.”

Chris Zoller, Everlast’s VP of Marketing and Product Development, added, ““We are excited to be adding Lee to Team Everlast today. His character in and out of the ring exemplifies the type of athlete we want representing Everlast. Lee trusted us on the biggest stages, winning both the Commonwealth and European bantamweight championships. We are proud to continue our support of his journey to a world title with the best fight gear and apparel in the game.”

The 24-year-old from Edinburgh has been tipped for the top since he set the amateur scene alight with his scintillating performances as a Team GB Senior representative. Since turning professional in late 2017, his incredible potential was realised when he won the IBF Youth

title in only his fourth fight, followed by the Commonwealth title in his next fight, both wins by stoppage.

In November 2019 he was involved in the biggest all-Scottish showdown in recent years when he put his Commonwealth title on the line against undefeated Glasgow rival and British Champion Ukashir Farooq, that saw McGregor unify the belts after twelve rounds following a close and thrilling battle.

McGregor’s meteoric rise saw him complete the trinity of traditional title belts in March this year when he sensationally stopped the reigning European Champion, Karim Guerfi, in the opening round in a real statement to signify his intent on the world scene and send a warning to his rivals.
