Cage Warriors 113 Results & Recap
After a late-notice relocation to Manchester, Cage Warriors staged a behind-closed-doors event to millions around the globe.
Cage Warriors’ strictly stripped-down crew delivered an 11-fight card packed with memorable moments last night. All fighters and event staff were tested for symptoms of the Covid-19 coronavirus prior to the even commencing.
Once an on-site medic had cleared those inside the Manchester BEC Arena, the show began.
Darren Stewart and Bartosz Fabinski clashed in an elite-level European contest at the top of the bill, with Fabinski grinding his way to a unanimous decision win. Both athletes were originally due to compete at UFC London.
In the co-main event, a new lightweight champion was crowned in Mason Jones. ‘The Dragon’ became the fourth Welshman to take home a Cage Warriors title, carrying the mantle left by UFC stars Jack Shore, Jack Marshman and Brett Johns.
There was more big-name lightweight action earlier in the night, with Paddy Pimblett dispatching of Decky Dalton with a first round TKO. After a turbulent 18 months which has included injuries, fight cancellations and multiple opponent changes, ‘The Baddy’ has finally announced his return to form.
The Pro Prelims were aired live and free for all on UFC Fight Pass, providing a welcome night of all-access sport for fans around the globe.
At the top of the prelims, Perry Goodwin put himself in the featherweight title conversation with a victory over Steve Aimable. Before that, rising prospects Coner Hignett, James Hendin and Kingsley Crawford made huge statements with wins over more experienced opposition.
