Cage Warriors 113: Pimblett Beats Dalton
Tonight at Cage Warriors 113 in Manchester, Paddy Pimblett ended a long-period of frustration with a 1st round victory on his return from injury.
Decky Dalton was a late replacement and any hope’s of springing the upset evaporated when he slipped, and before he could get back to his feet Pimblett had locked in a body triangle, which he never quite managed to free himself from.
Pimblett quickly found a dominant position, and threatened the submission, but Dalton bravely survived the initial attempts Pimblett threw at him.
But maybe with his last fight still in the memory bank, Pimblett showed patience and eventually found the punches for the 1st round TKO.
We haven’t seen Pimblett since September 2018, and the relief was plain to see. Pimblett is still only 25, another lightweight title shot surely is next, but only if the UFC come calling again. After this performance, there is every chance they might.
Pimblett improves his record to 15-3, Dalton drops to 11-5.
