Former interim welterweight champion, and recent undisputed title contender, Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington – has thrown his name into the hat to possibly replace perennial challenger, Leon Edwards on March 21st., and face foe, Tyron Woodley.

The brash American Top Team trainee last featured at UFC 245 in December – dropping a final frame knockout loss to reigning 170-pound champion, Kamaru ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Usman.

Covington, who has a storied past with former division best, Woodley has called for a matchup with the Missouri knockout artist – after the relocation of UFC Fight Night London.

The O2 Arena event became the fourth UFC card to be affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic in recent days – with the promotion eager to relocate the event in the coming days as a precautionary measure. Original headliner, Edwards, revealed this evening that he has been forced to withdraw from the bout as the US continues to implement a travel ban on U.K. and Irish citizens.

Taking to his official Twitter account on Sunday night, Covington called for a matchup with Tyron Woodley on a single week’s notice.

“Word on the street is @LeonScott is out. The @ufc and America need a hero. Who wants see (sic) America’s Champ put the #MAGA cape on and beat the f**k out of @twoodley live on @ESPN next week for your entertainment and my own personal pleasure? 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸”

As well as Colby Covington, streaking welterweight contender, Gilbert ‘Durinho’ Burns has also offered his services on short notice. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competed at UFC Fight Night Brasília yesterday, knocking former middleweight and welterweight title challenger, Demian Maia out in the opening round.
