Tyson Fury Open To Fighting Stipe Miocic
By Henry Walter
Tyson Fury has confirmed that he would be open to fighting the reigning UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in comments made earlier today.
“Stipe says he wants to box me, that would be a good fight for sure. After I get Wilder out of the way I’ll fight Stipe in a boxing match if he wants it. It would be a big crossover fight like Mayweather and McGregor. I’m open to that fight so he should come and see me.”
Fury recently posted footage of himself working out in the octagon but UFC head Dana White dismissed suggestions he would sign the British boxer to compete in MMA.
Yet Miocic has always been very clear about his openness to fighting either Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua in a boxing match and such a bout would create huge revenue.
Miocic is a former Golden Gloves boxing champion as well as being a state champion wrestler and he primarily utilises his boxing in most of his MMA fights.
It would be a huge ask for Miocic to take on Fury in a fight where he can’t utilise his full arsenal but the fight would understandably create huge interest amongst combat sport fans. It may well come to fruition if Fury gets past Wilder next year.
