BJ Penn Returns Yet Again?
It looks highly likely that against all odds and common sense we will yet again see BJ Penn back in the UFC. Penn (16-14-2) has verbally agreed to face Nik Lentz in a lightweight contest.
Penn now 40, is 0-7-1 in his last 8 fights and has lost an unbelievable 7 straight fights, most recently a decision loss to Clay Guida at UFC 237.
Lentz (30-10-2-1 NC) will be the latest to take on the former two-weight UFC champion. Penn has been on a downward spiral for nearly a decade and hasn’t won a fight since he beat Matt Hughes in 2010.
There is no real justification for keep giving Penn fights in the UFC, and you have to ask when will it end. Penn was a great champion, but his day in the sun has long been over.
