Day to Unleash ‘Black Mexican’ on Adolphe
Shaquille Day is planning on showing the world exactly why he is known as the ‘Black Mexican’ when he faces Louis Adolphe for the vacant Southern Area welterweight title on Saturday’s huge #MTKFightNight at the Brentwood Centre.
Unbeaten Day (12-0, 2 KOs) faces Adolphe (10-1, 1 KO) live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and also live on iFL TV, and he’s promising a performance to remember this weekend.
Day said: “On Saturday I’m going to show everybody just why I’m called the ‘Black Mexican.’ Fans can expect to see me in full flow and coming with my skills.
“I’ve prepared fully and I’m the best I can be. There’s nothing else I could have done to be in a better position. We’ll see what he brings during the fight and then we’ll attack it and assess it from there.
“This is a big fight for me and I’m not looking past it. I’m only thinking about winning this title. After that we can talk about what’s next, but for now it’s just fight by fight and I’m fully focused on this.
“It’s great to be live on ESPN+ too and that is changing the game for all of the MTK Global fighters on these cards. It’s taking it to another level and I can’t wait to be under those lights again.”
Day vs. Adolphe is part of a massive card on Friday, that includes a WBO European welterweight showdown between world-ranked welterweight Michael McKinson and dangerous Russian Evgeny Pavko along with Chantelle Cameron’s WBC Silver and WBC world title final eliminator battle with Anisha Basheel.
A packed undercard at the Brentwood Centre also features the likes of Jay Whelan, Harlem Eubank, Josh Adewale, Jack Martin and many more.
