Harlem Eubank Thriving in Elite Environment
Unbeaten Harlem Eubank couldn’t think of any place better to hone his craft as he prepares to return on Saturday’s huge #MTKFightNight event at the Brentwood Centre.
Eubank (8-0, 2 KOs) is part of a big card that takes place live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and also live on iFL TV. He trains alongside the likes of Michael Conlan, Ryan Burnett, Joe Joyce and plenty of others, and that’s helping him go from strength to strength.
Eubank said: “The talent that we’ve got up at the gym is endless. We have great fighters with loads of experience as amateurs and professionals, and it’s good to be around them and learn so much from them every day, not only technically but with advice outside of the ring too.
“It’s like downloading a fast-track to boxing, which is what I have needed after only starting boxing at 18. I want to be as good as I can be, and the guys I’m around make it the perfect surroundings and teammates to learn from.
“It’s great to be back in action at the Brentwood Centre. It’s important for me to stay active and keep putting into action in realistic scenarios what I’ve been working on in the gym.
“You can only do that in a realistic environment when you’re in the ring under the lights, so I want to be busy for the rest of the year.
“In my last fight it was good to get a full six rounds in and work through the things I’ve been practising. There are now going to be more improvements in this fight and that will show on the night.”
Eubank is part of a massive card on Friday, that includes a WBO European welterweight showdown between world-ranked welterweight Michael McKinson and dangerous Russian Evgeny Pavko, Chantelle Cameron’s WBC Silver and WBC world title final eliminator battle with Anisha Basheel, plus Shaquille Day takes on Louis Adolphe for the Southern Area crown.
A packed undercard at the Brentwood Centre also features the likes of Jay Whelan, Josh Adewale, Jack Martin and many more.
