UFC 239: Masvidal Beats Askren in 5 Seconds
After putting Darren Till to sleep in March at UFC London, Jorge Masvidal has added another highlight reel finish to his late career CV.
Till went into the 2nd round, Ben Askren barely lasted two seconds at UFC 239 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
It was officially over at just 5 seconds of the opening round, making it the quickest ever knockout in UFC history.
A perfectly timed flying knee erupted on Askren’s unprotected head as he went for the predictable takedown. Askren was out the moment it landed, an unbeaten record shattered in the most violent conclusive way.
Askren after such a defeat may walk away for good, being a specialist in one area isn’t enough in the modern age.
However, ‘Gamebred’ has reignited his career in 2019, he wants a title shot, he needs to get it.
