Molly McCann Signs New 4 Fight UFC Contract
The story of Molly McCann shows how quickly things can change in the world of MMA.
Last May, McCann lost her UFC debut to Gillian Robertson in front of her own fans and left the Liverpool fighter fearing her dream would be cut short before it had really began.
McCann owned it, blamed nobody, and went away to improve all aspects of her game.
In March, with her UFC career firmly on the line McCann returned and showed that she belongs in the UFC. Priscila Cachoeira was sent back to Brazil on the back of a points defeat at the hands of McCann at UFC London.
We saw glimpses in the first round of what McCann has in her locker, we saw a lot more in May against Ariane Lipski at UFC Greenville.
A near flawless performance resulted in another victory, and now McCann has been rewarded with a new 4 fight contract.
The flyweight division has plenty of depth but no real obvious stand-out challenger to the current champion Valentina Shevchenko.
Any fighter who manages to put together a decent enough win streak, could very quickly find themselves in the title conversation.
McCann isn’t there yet, but don’t be surprised if sooner rather than later, she is.
