Cage Warriors 106: Night of Champions

Cage Warriors 106: Night of Champions

By Dan McConnell

Cage Warriors will appear at the Eventim Apollo in London for the very first time this Saturday for the promotions largest event in the history of the company.

The 13-fight event see six consecutive title fights and a packed preliminary card!

In the main event which is arguably the biggest welterweight title fight in Cage Warriors history, pips champion Ross ‘The Hitman’ Houston (8-0) who puts his undefeated record and title all on the line. Challenger and current interim welterweight champion Nicholas ‘Lokomotivo’ Dalby is out to prove his UFC doubters wrong from his release in 2016, and has looked incredible inside the CW cage winning his last three in a row by devastating fashion.

In the co-main event a lightweight title fight will be the warm-up act to the big show. Two of the best 155-pounders in the UK right now will face off for the title in a winner takes all contest. Jack Grant (15-4) a man who is on a six-fight win streak, and at the age of 27 is one of the most experienced fighters for his age in the world. He faces Jai Herbert (8-1) who is on a real hot streak, and trains with the likes of current UFC welterweight contender Leon Edwards and Bellator welterweight Fabian Edwards.

Also on the main-card current CW featherweight title holder Dean Trueman (10-4) puts his title up for grabs against former UFC fighter Mads Burnell (11-3). Trueman became champion at Cage Warriors 100 and will defend his title for the very first time. The 25-year old Burnell is one of the best prospects around, seven of Burnell’s eleven wins have come through a variety of different submissions.

After capturing the Cage Warriors middleweight title earlier this year, James Webb (6-1) will make his first defence against Nathias ‘Notorious’ Frederick (7-2). Webb has totalled five wins in a row and will welcome Frederick to his new promotion and look to spoil the party yet again as underdog.

The main card opener sees Sam Creasey (11-2) make his second attempt at capturing the Cage Warriors flyweight title against promotional newcomer Samir Faiddine (10-5). This bout has been scheduled twice in 2016 and 2017, but it seems at the third time of asking fans will finally get to see both men square off.

The light-heavyweight title is also on the line when Marthin Hamlet (5-0) faces Modestas Bukauskas (8-2) in the last fight on the pro prelims for the 205 strap.

There is no doubt the stars will be in attendance for this huge night of Cage Warriors action, who can reign supreme and hold each title high at the Night of Champions?
