Bellator Prospect Watch: Karl Moore

Bellator Prospect Watch: Karl Moore

By Dan McConnell

The Bellator Prospect Watch returns home to Irish shores, and will focus on a former light heavyweight champion who is set to make his Bellator debut very soon.

This is the part where I tell you to make sure you keep an eye out for this fighter, who no doubt has huge plans ahead and looks to send shockwaves around the Bellator 205-pound division.

Karl Moore is a mixed martial artist from Belfast Northern Ireland, and former Cage Warriors light-heavyweight champion! Moore holds an 8-2 record, and recently signed to Bellator MMA in the summer of 2018.

In his early career Moore went on a five-fight win streak with Cage Contender and Cage Warriors, before facing current UFC fighter Paul ‘Bearjew’ Craig at BAMMA 22 in 2015.

The 205-pounder talent has also fought with Venator FC in his mixed martial arts career under the guidance of former camp Fight Academy Ireland, who had current Cage Warriors welterweight Joe McColgan recently fight under the Italian promotion.

The West-Belfast man continued his unbeaten run, taking his tally up to 7-1. Moore’s last fight was in March of 2018, when he moved up in weight to take on then current Cage Warriors heavyweight champion Mauro Cerilli, who is now at ONE Championship.

Despite this loss to Cerilli, Moore started a new chapter in his career training at the widely-respected SBG Ireland gym under the watchful eye of Coach John Kavanagh.

Bellator where sweeping up a talented crop of UK and Irish talent around this same time, snapping up the hot-prospect Moore. His debut with the new promotion was set to take place on the Bellator Dublin card in February of this year against Yannick Bahati, but he had to withdraw due to an unfortunate injury.

The rivalry between both men has been renewed, and I fully expect them to finally face off in the Bellator cage very soon! Moore is one of the hottest prospects in the 205-pound division right now, and I certainly can’t wait to see him back in action!
