Yigit vs. Ozgul Heads Big York Hall Undercard
World title challenger Anthony Yigit will face Siar Ozgul on a starry undercard for the #MTKFightNight topped by Ohara Davies vs. Miguel Vazquez at York Hall on June 28.
Sweden’s former EBU super-lightweight king Yigit (23-1-1, 8 KOs) takes on Turkish-born Ozgul (15-3, 3 KOs) on an ESPN+ broadcast that also includes Chantelle Cameron vs. Anisha Basheel in a WBC world title eliminator and Ryan Walsh vs. Lewis Paulin for the British featherweight crown.
Yigit said: “Siar is just the opponent I need to test my skill and brains in the ring.
“He’s rough, making sure to bring the fight to you, and he’s been in the ring and gone the distance with former World Champion Viktor Postol so I’m not expecting an easy fight.
“I’m really looking forward to fighting at York Hall. I’ve watched my friends fight there and I was so jealous of them because it’s a legendary venue with a great atmosphere. It’s almost as if it was built for boxing.”
Promoter Nisse Sauerland said: “We’re delighted to be working with MTK Global. This is a great fight for Anthony and great match up for the fans. It’s going to be an explosive night at London’s famous York Hall.
“We’re also excited that American fight fans are going to get the opportunity to see Anthony in action again on ESPN+.”
Also on the same bill and broadcast on iFL TV is the towering Donovan Mortlock and talented lightweight Bradley Haxell, who both bid to make it hat-tricks of victories as a professional, while the explosive Sam Gilley hunts a third consecutive stoppage win.
Popular welterweight Jack Ewbank is another fighter hoping to move to 3-0 on the night with London-based Afghan Quaise Khademi (5-0, 2 KOs) completing a truly stellar line-up.
