A Confident Liam Conroy to Dazzle Brentwood
British title challenger Liam Conroy has taken heart from his defeat to Olympian Josh Buatsi and plans to show Brentwood he remains within touching distance of his dream.
Barrow’s Conroy (16-4-1, 8 KOs) is back in action on Saturday’s #MTKFightNight and having already blasted aside the likes of Miles Shinkwin during an impressive reign as English champion, feels enthusiastic over his future.
Conroy, who fights live on iFL TV, said: “With the English title, I proved I’m above that these days. All my English title-level fights were stoppage wins for me so I believe I’m up there domestically.
“I believe Buatsi and Callum Johnson are the top two in the division domestically and I’m not too far behind them so I’d like to fight all the other lads ranked in the top 10 and get towards the British title.
“I’m not the type of fighter to go out calling names but those top 10 lads, I’d like to test myself again any of them.
“My long-term goal is still to win that British title. Even though I lost against Buatsi, I’ve come out of that fight feeling positive.
“It might be soon or it might take a year or more, but I still want to pick up that British title.”
Joining Conroy on a packed night of boxing at the Brentwood Centre are the likes of Danny Dignum, who steps up against former world title challenger Rafa Jackiewicz, rising super-lightweight Daniel Egbunike, ‘Dutch Destroyer’ Gino Kanters and many more.
