Cage Warriors 104 Preview: Shore v Malone

By Dan McConnell

This Saturday night, Cage Warriors returns to the Viola Arena in Cardiff for a huge Wales vs Scotland battle to see who’s the best bantamweight in the CW world. We also see another Welshman welcome a former UFC veteran back into the cage after a four-year layoff.

In the main-event Cage Warriors bantamweight champion, and Cardiff’s own Jack ‘Tank’ Shore (10-0) puts his unbeaten record and prestigious title on the line, against an undefeated and dangerous opponent in Scott Malone (5-0) who has worked his way up the rankings for a title shot.

Shore will look to complete his second successful title defence as the Cage Warriors bantamweight champion and make sure he successfully defends the belt in-front of his home fans. While the Scottish-man Scott Malone, looks to spoil the party and carry on his excellent unbeaten streak while rising to the top of the rankings. Someone ‘0’ has got to go as they say…

In the co-main event of the evening, another home-town boy in Aaron Khalid (9-4-1) welcomes former BAMMA welterweight champion, Cage Rage and UFC veteran Tom ‘Kong’ Watson (17-9) back into the cage after a long absence. Khalid is on an impressive three-fight win streak, with his most recent two losses coming at the hands of current Cage Warriors welterweight champion Ross Houston.

Watson has been out of action from 2015, which was his last fight with the UFC on the Glover Teixeira v Ovince Saint Preux card in Nashville. ‘Kong’ Watson has been wanting to fight for quite some time, and he will now get his chance in Europe’s leading MMA organisation.

Also, on the card we will see a lightweight bout between Wales’ Mason Jones and Donovan Desmae, with the ever-exciting Jones looking to extend his unbeaten six-fight win streak. The return of England’s top strawweight Corey McKenna is also an added bonus to the main card.

Fan favourite Josh Reed, who had that incredible fight with former bantamweight champion Nathaniel Wood also features this Saturday night in Cardiff.
