MMA fans are spoilt for choice this weekend, UFC 224, BAMMA 35 and Bellator 199 give the fans plenty of viewing options.
Bellator 199 has plenty of interest, the red hot and much touted prospect Aaron Pico is in action again. Labelled by some the best prospect the sport has ever seen, takes on Lee Morrison in his 4th pro fight. Pico (2-1) has rebounded from his stunning debut loss to Zach Freeman with two straight wins, and will look to carry that momentum on against Morrison.
Ryan Bader and King Mo close out the opening round of the Bellator heavyweight grand prix in the main event, but personally I am looking forward to Paul Daley who welcomes Jon Fitch to Bellator.
Both Daley and Fitch can consider themselves unfortunate to be cut from the UFC and to never return.
Daley was cut and banned for life from the promotion for the infamous sucker punch against Josh Koscheck back in 2010. While the initial cut was correct, the lifetime ban seems extremely harsh when you look what others have done since, obviously the recent actions of Conor McGregor being the best example. Daley is coming off a massive win over Lorenz Larkin but is at odds with Bellator over how he is being promoted, so his 3 year run with the promotion is almost certainly coming to an end.
Fitch himself was cut from the UFC despite still being one of the best welterweights on the planet, and suffering only 3 defeats in over 7 years with the UFC. Fitch is on a 4 fight win streak which includes a win over Jake Shields.
