Ringside Report: Gemma Richardson Moves to 3-0 at the Olympia
Gemma Richardson would have viewed her fight on Sunday at the Olympia in London as an audition to impress the MVP powers-that-be. If so, Richardson can confidently feel that she will be invited back for more. Richardson won every one of the six rounds against Johana Rajmont in a dominant one-sided performance. She improved her record to 3-0 and looks like a fighter who could go a very long way in the sport.
The super-lightweight prospect impressed on the undercard of the first-ever MVP show on UK soil. The former amateur star didn’t let her opponent settle. Richardson was aggressive throughout, and while Rajmont was brave and soaked up everything that was thrown at her, Richardson showed a touch of class.
The unbeaten 24-year-old will surely be asked back to the big show. Gemma Richardson was an elite amateur, and there is every chance she will replicate that success in the professional ranks.
