Mariah Turner To Fight The Former World Champion Skye Nicolson In April
Mariah Turner has landed the biggest fight of her career to date when she fights the former WBC world featherweight champion Skye Nicolson on April 29th in Australia for the WBC interim world super-bantamweight title.

Nicolson (15-1) hopes a win over her fellow Aussie will take her closer to a shot at undisputed glory, potentially against Ellie Scotney later this year. But for Turner, it gives her a chance to gatecrash the world title picture herself if she upsets Nicolson.
“I’d like to thank Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing for giving me this opportunity,” Turner said in a press release today to formally announce the fight. “This is the biggest challenge of my career so far and the kind of opportunity that dreams are made of.
“To step into the ring with a World Champion like Skye Nicolson on such an incredible global platform is a huge moment for me. I respect what Skye has achieved in the sport. At the same time, I truly believe in myself and in the work my team and I are putting in behind the scenes.
“I’m incredibly grateful to my team at Fortitude Boxing, my manager Stephen Deller, for backing me, and to my major sponsor Cappah Group for supporting my career and helping me get here. We are leaving no stone unturned in this camp. I’m ready to rise to the moment on April 29. This is my chance to let my light shine, show the world who I am as a fighter, and prove that I belong on the world stage.”
Turner turned pro in 2023 and has been incredibly active, amassing thirteen fights in just three years. Turner (12-1) suffered a six-round points defeat to Ellie Bouttell in 2024, but has rebounded with seven wins on the bounce. In November, Turner outpointed the previously unbeaten Stephanie Lee Cutting over ten rounds.
