Sasha Booker Fights Shannon Courtenay on the MVP Card on Easter Sunday

Sasha Booker has got the golden ticket to change her career trajectory on April 5th when she faces the former WBA world bantamweight champion Shannon Courtenay on the big MVP show that features the likes of Caroline Dubois, Terri Harper, Ellie Scotney, Chantelle Cameron, and Emma Dolan on the main card.

Courtenay is on the comeback trail after a period away from the sport, and after an early setback, is now riding a two-fight win streak, albeit against lower-grade opposition. Courtenay has talked about chasing world titles or a rematch with Ebanie Bridges after her fight with Booker on Easter Sunday. But her opponent will have other ideas, and she will know a win over a former world champion changes everything for her.

A late entry into the sport, Booker turned professional in 2024 with a win over Ivanka Ivanova. After a win over Kira Carter, Booker lost to the unbeaten Greek fighter Aikaterina Koutsogeorgopoulou, but rebounded with a six-round points victory over Sydney Chambers in December.

Sasha Booker will enter the fight in the away corner and a likely significant betting underdog, but Courtenay hasn’t impressed on her comeback so far, and the 34-year-old could be in the right place at the right time.
