Hannah Robinson: The Next Stage

Hannah Robinson: The Next Stage

Hannah Robinson will see out a busy and productive year on Saturday night when she takes on her most experienced opponent to date. The unbeaten lightweight prospect will take on the American Edina Kiss at the Rainton Meadows Arena, Houghton-le-Spring, in a fight that is a vital next step for a career that looks destined to move very soon into the title picture. If 2025 was a year of finding momentum, 2026 looks like it will be a year of moving herself into position to challenge for some major titles. At 31, Robinson looks ready to be unleashed to the next stage of her career.

Robinson has an unblemished resume. Five fights. Five wins. The former two-time National amateur champion can be extremely proud of her progress so far. The recent wins over Georgia Klein and Beccy Ferguson have seen her mature a little further into the professional ranks. A developing pro-style that gives hope that Robinson can compete at a much higher level.

Edina Kiss is the perfect fight at the perfect time for Robinson. Kiss has traded blows with the likes of Mikaela Mayer, Amanda Serrano, Rhiannon Dixon, Heather Hardy, and many others. Kiss might now be firmly in the role of the imported opponent who is expected to lose, but she is experienced enough to give Robinson at least a few problems to solve. Kiss was recently stopped by the world-ranked Samantha Worthington. If Robinson can get her first professional stoppage, it would send out a little warning to her future rivals.

It is to the future that Hannah Robinson will be looking. A fighter who turned professional with genuine and realistic hopes of becoming a world champion. The next twelve months will be when Robinson moves a little closer to realising those dreams. The fight with Kiss is another scheduled six-rounder, but 2026 should be when Robinson finds herself fighting the championship distance, be it at British, Commonwealth, or European level. After a frustrating start to her professional life in 2024, Robinson has really found her momentum this year, and next year, she could find a little more.
