Megan Redstall: The Commonwealth Title & Beyond
Megan Redstall started the year with big ambitions. A scheduled fight with Emma Dolan for the Commonwealth super-flyweight title had recently fallen by the wayside, but the unbeaten prospect had remained steadfast in her belief that an opportunity to fight for a major title would eventually come her way. And it has.

On November 30th, Redstall and Laura Pain will fight for the vacant Commonwealth bantamweight title at the iconic York Hall on a Top Tier promotion. A win for either will open many doors. The gateway to even greater opportunities.
Redstall turned professional in 2021 with a six-round points victory over Ivana Ivanova. A draw in her third fight in 2023 is the only minor blemish on her record. A fight that followed a 20-month absence from the ring. So sharing the spoils over six rounds with Inna Statkevych can be excused after an extended ring hiatus, especially with the Ukrainian having proved herself one of the better imports over the last few years. Statkevych has a draw with Gemma Ruegg on her resume, and has lost close decisions to the likes of Jasmina Zapotoczna and Marie Connan.
Since the draw with Statkevych, Redstall has found regular activity, a rarity in the current climate, three wins that have brought her to the biggest fight of her career to date later this month. The importance of her fight with Pain isn’t lost on her. A victory gives her options. Redstall resides in and around a division that is stacked with plenty of options on the domestic scene. The likes of Maiseyrose Courtney and Lauren Parker could be tempted up to bantamweight. But Redstall might even look at revisiting that fight with Emma Dolan, who is now on the verge of a shot at the IBF world super-flyweight title. A victory over Pain could put her right in the mix for some very big fights indeed. A win changes everything for her.
