Laura Pain & Megan Redstall Will Fight For The Commonwealth Bantamweight Title At The York Hall

On November 30th at the York Hall, in a good domestic match-up, Laura Pain and Megan Redstall will clash in a fight between two unbeaten prospects with the vacant Commonwealth bantamweight title on the line.

Pain (9-0) and Redstall (5-0-1) will meet at that iconic London venue in November, and the winner will likely move herself into much bigger fights in 2026.

The domestic scene badly needs fights like this. A stagnant period of time of late has somewhat diluted the progress women’s boxing has made over the last few years. But with a plethora of talent in and around the flyweight, super-flyweight, and bantamweight ranks, there are some really good domestic fights to be made. Pain and Redstall is one of those fights.

Shannon Ryan and Chloe Watson will trade blows in October, in another really intriguing fight at the York Hall. Maiseyrose Courtney is interested in fighting the winner of that particular fight and will also have one eye on whoever emerges victorious out of Pain and Redstall. But any combination of the above fighters would work and add some much-needed life to the female side of the sport in the UK.

But Laura Pain and Megan Redstall will be focused on the here and now. Two fighters who have probably struggled for the limelight in comparison to some of their rivals, but now they have a golden opportunity to kick-start their careers by winning a major title. It’s a good old-fashioned piece of matchmaking between two fighters who have ambitions of reaching the pinnacle of their sport. The winner moves on, and the loser can come again.
