Chloe Watson Returns To Fight Shannon Ryan In October
I have written many articles of late about the plethora of talent that resides in and around the UK women’s flyweight division. Good fights that can and should be made. Finally, we have one.
Chloe Watson will make her first appearance since losing her unbeaten record and her European flyweight title to Jasmina Zapotoczna at the Royal Albert Hall in March. It was a highly competitive fight that Zapotoczna edged via a split decision.
Watson returns to fight Shannon Ryan in a big domestic showdown on the undercard of the Kieron Conway George Liddard British and Commonwealth title fight at the iconic York Hall in October.

In ten professional fights, only the talented Emma Dolan has beaten Ryan. After two low-key wins since her only reversal in the paid ranks, Ryan has landed another fight that could propel the winner right back into contention to fight for the major titles.
But for Watson, it gives her an immediate chance to kick-start her career again after that wafer-thin defeat to Zapotoczna in March. Prior to losing her unbeaten record five months ago, Watson seemed destined to challenge for world titles. A win over Shannon Ryan and her career will get back much of what was lost at the Royal Albert Hall.
With women’s boxing struggling somewhat of late in the UK, it needs good 50/50 fights to reignite that flagging interest. Shannon Ryan vs. Chloe Watson is most certainly that kind of fight.
