Gemma Richardson Stops Tereza Dvorakova In Hull

Gemma Richardson improved her professional record to 2-0 on Saturday night in Hull, when she became the first fighter to stop the tough Tereza Dvorakova in five one-sided rounds. Richardson has a touch of class about her, and she looks like a fighter who could go very far in her sport.

The Scunthorpe prospect impressed on her second outing as a professional. Boxing nicely behind her jab, and ripping in combinations that bloodied her opponent’s nose from the early seconds of their scheduled six-round contest on the latest GBM Sports show. Richardson, while showing plenty of potential, was perhaps a little too eager to please on her professional debut in March, but there was none of that in her second fight in the paid ranks. Richardson was calm and composed, and the 23-year-old did little wrong. Richardson is settling well into her new world.

The stoppage was well timed; the injury to the nose of Dvorakova was getting worse by the second. The Czech fighter didn’t complain when the referee waved the fight off in the 5th round.

Gemma Richardson was incredibly harshly treated at the end of her amateur career, and the former Tesm GB questioned many things about her boxing career. But Richardson found her love for the sport again, and she looks like a prospect with real potential.
