Jade Pearce Makes the Perfect Start to Her Professional Career
It was a long time coming after a couple of false starts, but Jade Pearce made light work of her first professional opponent in a thoroughly impressive debut.
The experienced Icelandic import Valgerdur Gudsteinsdottir found the former amateur star far too much for her at the Eston Leisure Centre, Middlesbrough, on Saturday night. The end came in the 3rd round after a dominating performance.
Gudsteinsdottir came in with a decent-looking 7-7 resume, and she looked like posing some problems for the debutant. But Pearce had other ideas and delivered a statement-making performance on her maiden professional ring walk. Pearce was always in control and beyond impressed. In many ways, it was the perfect start to her professional career.
Carl Greaves is guiding her career in the paid ranks. Greaves has guided Emma Dolan to British and Commonwealth titles, and Pearce could be another future champion for his stable. Tougher tests will undoubtedly follow, but the signs are good for Jade Pearce.
