Carlagh Peake: “My dream would be to compete in the next Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028 and then hopefully turn over and become a world champion.”

The Dublin-born Carlagh Peake has big dreams. A desire to compete at the next Olympics. Dreams of winning a world title as a professional. Peake has medals at European and World level. A six-time National Champion. Her resume suggests her lofty ambitions are one of reality.

Peake was coached in her early years by her parents. A love for her craft was quickly formed. “I was always very boxing-minded from a very early age,” Peake told FightPost. “I never did any other sport, only boxing. I started boxing when I was 7. My older brothers boxed in the club, and my dad owned it, so I was very excited to join it. I’ve always loved boxing, and even when I was little, I enjoyed watching boxing and competing. I just love the sport. Boxing just gives me a lot of confidence.”

Peake is now over fifty fights into her boxing career. But she still remembers her first-ever fight. “My first fight was at one of my club shows. I was only 10 years old as my birthday is in December, and our seasons start in September. I remember I was buzzing to fight on the show.”

Since that first official ring experience, Peake has amassed an impressive resume that includes six National titles, multiple Box Cup gold medals, plus the previously mentioned medals at European and World level.

Peake is aiming to win her first senior title this year. A desire to represent her country again. But there are long-term aspirations. “I’d love to turn professional when the time is right,” Peake says of what potentially lies ahead. “My dream would be to compete in the next Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028 and then hopefully turn over and become a world champion.”
