Lillie Winch: “It would mean everything to me to get on that all-female Boxxer card in March.”

Ben Shalom and Boxxer have hit the ground running in announcing their shows for the first quarter of 2025. However, probably of the most intrigue is a repeat of what they served up in October 2022. Boxxer will again present another all-female card in London. The iconic Royal Albert Hall will this time be the host for the evening, which is being promoted as a much-needed relaunch for women’s boxing after a difficult period of late for the female side of the sport. The attention has gone elsewhere. The interest has waned. But, hopefully, Shalom and his promotional rivals can reignite the flagging interest in 2025.

Three world welterweight baubles will be on the line in the main event when Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price settle their differences. An intriguing all-British showdown that has many a story to tell.

The undercard could feature the likes of Savannah Marshall, Caroline Dubois, Karriss Artingstall, and Francesca Hennessy. As previously reported, a British and Commonwealth super-flyweight clash between Emma Dolan and Lauren Parker is heavily rumoured to be in consideration to feature on the March 7th extravaganza. This observer would also like to see up-and-coming prospects like Harli Whitwell, Shona Whitwell, Gemma Richardson, and Sian O’Toole given slots on the preliminary section of the card. A relaunch should be about introducing the stars of the future to a new audience. FightPost is of the understanding that the unbeaten super-featherweight prospect Lillie Winch is another fighter who could also find a place on the Boxxer night of celebration for women’s boxing.

Winch has had three fights in 2024. The Enfield native has three wins. She hasn’t lost a single round in those three victories. Angelika Oles, Katherine Quintana, and Tereza Dvorakova all came up short by the same one-sided score of 60-54. Three appearances in Brentwood in Essex have more than indicated Winch has the potential to go a long way in the sport. Winch has featured on shows promoted by Johnny Clark and his excellent and progressive Top Tier Promotions. Clark is doing an excellent job of giving female fighters a platform to shine. Harli Whitwell is another fighter who has grown as a result of being featured on a Top Tier show. Clark is incredibly ambitious and is shining a light on women’s boxing in a way some of the bigger promoters haven’t in 2024.

Once branded an angry child in her early years, and suffering from bouts of depression before being diagnosed with Autism and finding combat sports that gave Winch an understanding of many things and an outlet for her aggression. “Before I got the diagnosis, everyone just thought I was this angry kid that you see around punching walls and stuff,” Winch told Boxing News earlier this year. Make no mistake, boxing is a vital part of her life.

But her story is a little more than that. That unbeaten start to her professional career, after a brief amateur run, has brought her many plaudits. Ellie Winch will not yet be known to the masses, but a coveted place on the Boxxer card would change everything for her.

Winch sold a reported three hundred tickets for her last fight against Tereza Dvorakova earlier this month. Trust me, little details like that matter. Talent isn’t the only thing you need to progress within boxing. Boxxer and Winch could work very well for each other. The excitement of Winch potentially landing on the March 7th card is obvious.

“It would mean everything to me to get on that all-female Boxxer card in March, especially so early in my career. I didn’t have a lot of amateur fights, so to come from nothing and get on a Boxxer card in my 4th fight would mean everything.”
