Hannah Robinson, Louise Orton & Tori-Ellis Willetts Three Fighters To Watch in 2024
From apathy and indifference women’s boxing has finally accepted its acceptance. And it’s rightful place. The likes of Claressa Shields, Chantelle Cameron, Katie Taylor, Natasha Jonas, and others sit gracefully at the top of the food chain. But the next generation are on the march also. Caroline Dubois and Rhiannon Dixon are just two fighters who are on the brink of very big things in 2024. There are others.
The once wafer-thin depth will soon be a thing of the past. It’s already getting there. There is plenty of talent coming through the ranks. The upward trajectory of women’s boxing shows no sign of slowing down any time soon. The following three fighters could all make a big impression on the sport in the next 12 months.
Hannah Robinson:
The two-time National Champion recently left her amateur days behind to turn professional. The Team GB standout will be trained by Jamie Moore, and with Chantelle Cameron training alongside her, Hannah Robinson couldn’t be in a better place to start her professional journey. Robinson will make her professional debut in December and will likely campaign at light-welterweight. Robinson is highly-touted and with good reason. A fighter with big ambitions Robinson looks set for a golden career. A genuine hope for world titles.
Louise Orton:

Louise Orton has been one of the unluckiest fighters of recent years. The former amateur star turned professional in 2019, but circumstances have only allowed her one fight so far. Orton recently returned to the sport after a truly traumatic period in her life. She could quite easily be British boxing’s best-kept secret. Orton will return in November and will look to make up for lost time. The super-featherweight hopeful deserves a break probably more than any other fighter. There is every chance Orton will still deliver on all that promise that was there in 2019.
Tori-Ellis Willetts:

Tori-Ellis Willetts is a fighter in a rush. Willetts told FightPost earlier this year that she wanted to be fast-tracked. She is already well on her way. After an excellent amateur career that included a plethora of titles, including National honours, Willetts turned professional this year and has already racked up two wins and will look to make it a hat trick of wins in Birmingham on October 20th. Like her good friend Hannah Robinson, Willetts was on the Team GB podium squad, and she seems set for a hugely successful career in the paid ranks. Willets could be a real sleeper in and around the bantamweight ranks.
