Hopewell Returns on October 28th

Nicola Hopewell Returns on October 28th

Nicola Hopewell after a successful and highly impressive professional debut makes a rapid return to action in October. Hopewell will have her second professional fight at the Doncaster Dome on Friday, October 28th.

After waiting impatiently for a fight in 2022, Hopewell is wasting little time as she advances her career. The long-awaited and much-anticipated debut finally came in August at the home of her beloved Sheffield United. Hopewell dominated every second of her maiden contest against the 126-fight veteran Claudia Ferenczi before securing the stoppage in the 6th and final round. It was the perfect start at her dream venue. And it promised plenty for what lies ahead. Boxing News said she mightily impressed on her debut and labelled Hopewell as one to watch. Very few who witnessed the debut would argue.

Hopewell recently turned 31, and the unbeaten flyweight prospect can look forward to a career that carries real potential. The win over Ferenczi, and the manner of it, only enhances the excitement of what lies ahead.

“It was everything I could have hoped for. it was the perfect debut. From the venue, the win, and the performance,” a very happy Hopewell told me the day after her winning debut.

The fight next month could be quickly followed by a hometown show in Worksop before the year ends, and if she ends the year as 3-0, 2023 could end with her near title contention. Having the ability to compete at a number of weights, will give her options and opportunities. And with flyweights hard to come by, Hopewell knows she may have to move in and around different weight divisions to get fights. The Ferenczi fight ended up being at super-bantamweight when Slovakian missed weight badly. It might be something Hopewell has to get used to.

After a difficult and frustrating time for much of this year, things are coming together nicely for the Worksop fighter. Hopewell wants to build on her good start and wants to be active, it looks like she will get her wish. As Boxing News rightly say, she is very much one to watch.
