Usyk vs Chisora: The Pro’s Pick
There is the belief that tonight’s big heavyweight showdown between Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora is one-sided, and the odds of 5-1 on Chisora emerging victorious seem to reflect that viewpoint.
Despite doubt over his heavyweight credentials, Usyk is the heavy betting favourite to move one step closer to a shot at the world heavyweight title.
Chisora has failed numerous times at the highest point of his craft, and is largely expected to do so again.
Certainly the professional fighters below seem to think that Usyk will win, only Bec Connolly thinks there will be an upset, she is predicting that Chisora will not only win, but will do so inside the distance.
The likes of Natasha Jonas, Ryan Rhodes, Callum Beardow and James Moorcroft don’t envisage Chisora lasting the distance.
The former world featherweight champion Colin McMillan sees Usyk getting the job done on points, as do unbeaten prospects Rhiannon Dixon and Nicola Hopewell.
I think the fight is a lot closer than the odds suggest, Chisora is not without a chance. However, Usyk will in all probability overcome any early difficulties to stop a brave Chisora at some point in the final 3 rounds.
Pro’s Predictions:
Bec Connolly: Chisora in 6
Colin McMillan: Usyk on points
Nicola Hopewell: Usyk on points
Ryan Rhodes: Usyk by late stoppage
James Moorcroft: Usyk by late stoppage
Callum Beardow: Usyk inside 8
Natasha Jonas: Usyk by late stoppage
Rhiannon Dixon: Usyk on points
