Donald Cerrone Dismisses Speculation Of Foot Injury Ahead Of UFC 246
By Ross Markey
With just three days to go before the Octagon touches down for the promotion’s first event of the year – fans flocked to social media with concern last night after the UFC released the second part of their episodic series, Embedded.
Donald Cerrone, who takes on former two-weight world champion, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor in a welterweight main event, appeared at the beginning of the episode – carrying a worrying limp on his left side.
With his entourage, ‘Cowboy’ makes his way through a Las Vegas parking lot before attending a concert – displaying a clear hitch to his step. The 36-year-old appeared at a media scrum last night, where he addressed the claims that he may have injured his foot when questioned by MMA Junkie writer, John Morgan.
“Man, I knew that was gonna come up (the question of a potential injury),” Cerrone said to reporters. “People are good. Put a little limp, what if I just walk with a little draw, or maybe I stepped on a lego, I got a kid now. No, I’m good. I just kicked the (Thai) pad funny, it’s just a funny, nothing. Yeah, nothing.”
Cerrone who seemed coy regarding the topic – is highly unlikely to remove himself from proceedings on Saturday night, given not just his nature, but the overall magnitude of the bout.
