UFC Busan: A Card With Finishes Guaranteed

UFC Busan: A Card With Finishes Guaranteed

By James Lee

Normally when a fight card is predicted to have multiple exciting fights and finishes, it usually goes the other way.

But with the upcoming UFC Busan card featuring some of the sport’s most exciting, it surely cannot disappoint, can it?

A fight that definitely shouldn’t is the light-heavyweight co-headliner between Volkan Oezdemir and Aleksandar Rakic. The Austrian fighter has been tipped to be the next contender in the division, much like Oezdemir was in 2017.

As Oezdemir did on the way to his title fight, Rakic knocked out Jimi Manuwa in his last fight with a vicious left head kick in Stockholm. He is currently on a twelve fight win streak with ten of them coming by finish.

His Swiss opponent is known as well for his power striking so a finish is almost guaranteed when the pair meet this coming weekend.

Another fight on the main card that should see a finish is Dooho Choi vs Charles Jourdain. The South Korean native has never been in a boring UFC fight and with three finishes to his name already, a finish in Busan is expected.

Jourdain is relatively unknown in the sport so him finishing the Korean in his opponent’s home country on the year ending card for the UFC would be vital in his career trajectory.

Finally, who could forget about Ciryl Gane vs Tanner Boser in the preliminary headliner.

Gane proved he can go to the very highest level in his last performance against Don’Tale Mayes in Singapore. He will make a relatively quick turnaround to fight in South Korea, after winning in late October and August before that.

Surprisingly, he only made his professional MMA debut last August but he has a wealth of muay thai and kickboxing experience that has him tipped to be the next big thing at heavyweight, much like his training partner Francis N’Gannou prior.

The Saturday morning card has everything and finishes are expected.
