The Expectancy of Excitement is Dangerous as Johnny Walker May Find Out
By James Lee
When you build a reputation for being a fighter who guarantees excitement, it really pushes them in their career. Fans become intrigued and watch every time they perform, looking to see another moment that can be added to a highlight reel.
All of that can be very dangerous though.
The continuance of recklessness is something that can prevent a fighter from claiming a championship, but always keep them in the minds of the fans.
Johnny Walker has made it very clear he wants to capture UFC gold, but his recklessness may catch up with him at UFC 244 this weekend.
Although his opponent Corey Anderson isn’t known for being dangerous on the feet, as many before have found out, the small gloves can make anyone a threat for a knockout finish.
The Brazilian has made his name so far in the UFC with three first round finishes.
They weren’t just usual finishes, but all have come in spectacular fashion. Especially his last, being a flying knee against veteran Misha Cirkunov in just over thirty seconds.
Despite the expectation growing, Anderson has consistently lived up to the hype as of yet and delivered the unknown those curious about his growth expect.
Ultimately, his fighting style presents danger to his opponent and maybe more specifically him going forward.
An intriguing position to hold amongst fans, but typically one that doesn’t bode well in maintaining yourself at the sport’s highest level.
