Reyes Stuns Weidman Inside a Round

In Boston’s main event, Dominick Reyes spoiled Chris Weidman’s light heavyweight debut with a first round TKO victory.

Weidman looked to negate Reyes’ striking by forcing him into grappling exchanges. Weidman secured a takedown, but could not hold his opponent there for long.

Weidman pressured Reyes against the cage, and used his bodyweight to keep him from escaping. Reyes finally shoved Weidman away, and the pair immediately started exchanging punches.

Weidman swung two wayward hooks, and Reyes replied with a straight left which landed flush to the chin of Weidman. The ‘All American’ fell to the floor, and Reyes rushed in to land a series of hammer fists, prompting Herb Dean to put an end to the fight.

The undefeated Reyes took his opportunity post-fight to lay claim to a title fight with Jon Jones which appears up for grabs. A stunning knockout victory over former champion Weidman will do his bid no harm.
