Fury is Back, But Back to What?
The headline on the poster says Fury is back, but is that back to fighting a certain standard of opponent.
Fury has made an incredible transformation over the last year or so, but with the Wilder rematch seemingly not on the agenda until next year at the earliest, will some of the love now turn into frustration and apathy, or worse.
Who you blame for the three way dance of avoidance will largely depend on which camp you are in. But from a heavyweight division of real hope and excitement, we now just have division.
For all the criticism over Jarrell Miller fighting Anthony Joshua, that fight is far better than Deontay Wilder vs Dominic Breazeale or Fury taking on the unknown German Tom Schwarz.
Fury will fight again before the year is out and almost certainly that won’t be against Wilder or Joshua, and all the momentum from last December could be lost.
Sometimes you have to make the fights while they are there, all of the big 3 have been shown to be vulnerable in the past, a defeat for either of them wouldn’t be that much of a surprise.
Sometimes in life you have to do things while you can, and also while people still care.
