Bellator 216 Results:
We expected blood and thunder but we got something we didn’t quite expect. Paul Daley decided to play the wrestling game, and it very nearly worked.
After doing nothing in the 1st round, takedowns won him the 2nd and the 3rd. Page rallied in the 4th and he got the edge in the grappling exchanges in the 5th, the difference in winning and losing for Daley.
Daley fought a smart fight, and did better than I thought he would, and he argued strongly that he won the fight. I had it 48-47 for Page.
Page got the win and moves on to the semi-finals in the Bellator Grand Prix. Douglas Lima awaits, on this performance, Lima has to be favoured.
