More UK Talent Added To UFC London
By Dan McConnell
On Wednesday of last week the UFC hosted a UFC London press conference which involved the main event in Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal as well as fellow welterweight Englishman Leon Edwards and bantamweight prospect Nathaniel Wood.
Liverpool’s Darren Till and Birmingham’s Leon Edwards stole the show going back and forward, hyping up a future ‘battle of Britain’ bout between the two. It was also announced that a number of fights have been added to the UFC London card in what looks like the UFC’s best ever fight card to date in the UK.
Former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion Nathaniel Wood (15-3) who is on a current seven fight win streak is set to face Mexican Jose Quinonez (7-2) who’s riding a four fight win steak.
Irishman Joseph Duffy (16-3) looks set to bounce back after defeat to top ranked lightweight James Vick against the ever exciting Marc Diakiese (12-3) who is fighting out of Doncaster England. Diakiese has picked up his only three losses of his career in a disappointing three fight losing streak.
A featherweight bout between Suffolk-native Arnold Allen (13-1) and Jordan Rinaldi (14-6) was also announced. Allen who is 4-0 in the UFC and unbeaten in six fights, is coming off a comeback third round submission victory over Mads Burnell at UFC Liverpool last May.
Two other featherweight fights have been added to the event including Englishmen Nad Narimani ( 12-2) who takes on Mike Grundy (11-1) and Danny Henry (12-2) v Dan Ige (10-2)
