Paddy Pimblett: It’s Time

Paddy Pimblett: It’s Time

For Paddy Pimblett tomorrow night it really is the most important night of his career so far and could very well be his farewell appearance in the Cage Warriors promotion.

In front of his own fans at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, Pimblett attempts to become a two-weight Cage Warriors world champion when he takes on Søren Bak for the vacant lightweight title.

Pimblett the long time face of the promotion, with a win tomorrow night surely leaves him with nothing else to achieve with Cage Warriors and the long talked about move to the UFC finally becomes a reality.

While some maybe happy being a big fish in a smaller pond, Pimblett at some point in the immediate future needs to make the move to the shark infested waters of the UFC.

Pimblett of course has to beat Bak at Cage Warriors 96, and the odds make it an extremely close fight to call. Bak himself harbours UFC ambitions, and he knows a win over Pimblett and the phone will undoubtedly ring.

The Cage Warriors lightweight title might be on the line tomorrow night but for the two fighters there is so much more at stake.
