We haven’t seen Tony Ferguson in action since last October but Ferguson will return at UFC 229 and will face the former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.

With most of the other contenders booked up options were limited for Ferguson but Pettis is a name opponent and if we see a near peak Pettis he could give Ferguson a lot of problems.

A win for Pettis would propel him back into the title talk and a possible fight with the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor who headline on the same night.

UFC 229 goes down on October 6th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
