Paddy Barnes Fails in World Title Bid

Paddy Barnes Fails in World Title Bid

Despite having only 5 professional fights Paddy Barnes at 31 knew he had to fast track his career, but sadly his bid for the WBC flyweight title ended in defeat at Windsor Park.

Cristofer Rosales in moving to (28-3) showed what a class act he is. From the opening seconds of the fight it looked like Rosales would be just too much for Barnes.

It looked to be developing into the sort of fight where Barnes would be competive in every round but wouldn’t win many of them. Barnes had success and the fight was shaping up to be a mini classic until the sudden ending.

The right hand to the body in the 4th sucked all the fight out of Barnes and left him on the floor in agony with little hope of beating the count.

Barnes showed enough to warrant hope he will get another chance at world level, but time might be an opponent he just won’t beat.
