UFC 229: Taking Shape
UFC 229 on October 6th will almost certainly end up breaking UFC PPV records. Of course the blockbuster headliner sees Khabib Nurmagomedov defend his UFC lightweight title against the returning Conor McGregor which will settle their ongoing feud.
Despite the mouth-watering headliner, the rest of the card doesn’t quite have the same buzz as the Khabib McGregor fight, but then again what could, but I still feel its missing something.
The fights so far announced are decent enough match-ups but the card needs a little more. Derrick Lewis and Alexander Volkov is rumoured but yet to be confirmed. Kevin Lee wants on the card and has revealed he is now in camp with a view to getting on the card, and if he gets his wish he would be a welcome addition to the card.
Sean O’Malley and Alejandro Perez is another fight rumoured to be in the works for the big show.
Regardless of what other fights do get made UFC 229 will be the most anticipated card of the year, but I hope we get a PPV offering that isn’t just about one fight.
REST OF THE CARD:
Sergio Pettis vs. Jussier Formiga
Michelle Waterson vs. Felice Herrig
Ovince Saint Preux vs. Dominick Reyes
Lina Lansberg vs. Yana Kunitskaya
Ryan LaFlare vs Tony Martin
