Lewis ‘The Machine Gun’ Mulberry

Lewis ‘The Machine Gun’ Mulberry is an up and coming young fighter based in Basildon, Essex, U.K. and is the British Golden Gloves Lightweight Champion.

Mulberry has progressed nicely through the amateur ranks, finishing a 7-year stint with a record of 38 wins from 52 fights, he has now progressed and fights in the semi-professional ranks and is starting to make headway towards turning full professional.

Lewis recently picked up a fantastic win over rival Danny Newth to earn the British golden Gloves Lightweight Championship, Newth had a lot more experience and fights compared to the Basildon fighter and the young fighter also had to contend with a hard training camp to cut weight, he dropped a staggering 12lbs to make the fight.

He now looks to move up a weight division to chase another British title and keep his excellent momentum going whilst he pursues his goal of turning professional.

Lewis’s favourite fighter is Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and holds ‘TBE’ in very high regard, he also has huge admiration for Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin and respects the Kazakhstan legend’s huge K.O. percentage.

Lewis has a very slick jab and has power with both hands, he possesses excellent foot and head movement and lightning quick reflexes and looks to be able to adapt quickly as a fight changes tempo, the young fighter is certainly not afraid to trade on the inside but also can fight at distance when necessary.

Lewis started boxing, as many young fighters do, to help him learn discipline and needed a focus for any frustrations that most young men face, he is certainly now showing the fruits of his labour and from speaking with him he is a very polite and well-mannered young man who has clear goals to achieve and is very focussed on becoming a top fighter.

We wish this young man great success and is certainly on our list of great young fighters to keep an eye on in the next few years.
